A Parliamentary group of the Samagi Jana Balawegaya including MPs Kavinda Jayawardena, Mujibur Rahman, and Sujith Sanjaya Perera today visited the Yugadanavi Power Plant in Kerawalapitiya on an observational tour.
When inquired by NewsRadio, Parliamentarian JC Alawathuwala said officials of the power plant provided detailed information to the group.
MP Alawathuwala condemned efforts by the government to sell a national asset that will be highly beneficial to the country to a foreign company.
He said they sought to look into the current status of the power plant, which comprises modern and high technology.
MP Alawathuwala added they understood that the agreement has no transparency while a Court case is currently underway.
He charged the government with violating the public mandate it received by selling state assets.
