Parliamentarian Ashok Abeysinghe says a government led by the Samagi Jana Balawegaya will punish all persons who stole public funds during the term of the Rajapaksa regime and the good governance government.
Speaking during a media briefing in Colombo MP Abeysinghe said policies have been formulated to make Sri Lanka a nation in which the youth can earn a monthly income of over Rs.200,000.
The MP noted the youth need to have an income of around Rs.200,000-300,000 to be able to buy a house and car, and live a good life.
He claimed however they shouldn’t have to go overseas to earn such an income, adding the SJB will create a strong youth force which can contribute to the country’s economy.
MP Abeysinghe claimed a SJB-led government will reclaim all assets that were sold and stolen from the country, and take legal action against the perpetrators.
He added former Presidents and Prime Ministers of several countries have been imprisoned over corruption charges at present.
He stressed that leaders of the SJB are not thieves, and therefore will take legal action against any individual who stole public funds and reclaim the funds.
