Two No-Confidence Motions have been handed over to the Speaker of House Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena by the Samagi Jana Balawegaya.
One Motion was handed over against the government while a second No-Confidence Motion was handed over against the President.
When inquired by NewsRadio, Parliamentarian JC Alawathuwala said the decision to hand over the Motions was reached during the Parliamentary group meeting held today.
Meanwhile, Leader of the Opposition Sajith Premadasa said a decisive step was taken today for the victory demanded by the people and accordingly two No-Confidence Motions have been presented against the government and the President.
Premadasa said the Samagi Jana Balawegaya is working with the aspirations of the people in mind and stressed that the public will identify people’s representatives who did not sign the Motions.
MP Premadasa handed over the two No-Confidence Motions at the Speaker’s official residence this afternoon.
SJB Secretary General Ranjith Madduma Bandara, Chief Opposition Whip MP Lakshman Kiriella, MPs Imtiaz Bakeer Marker, Gayantha Karunatilake, Eran Wickramaratne and Manusha Nanayakkara were also present at the occasion.
