The Samagi Jana Balawegaya says there is no division within the party.
Speaking during a media briefing today, SJB General Secretary Parliamentarian Ranjith Madduma Bandara said newspaper reports that stated the SJB has divided to five factions are false adding in reality more factions are joining hands with the SJB.
Joining the media briefing Parliamentarian Manusha Nanayakkara said the government is collapsing adding the backbenchers as well as certain Ministers are eager to join the opposition.
Meanwhile, Parliamentarian SM Marikkar said they are not affected by the newspaper article. MP Marikkar said attempts are underway to mislead the public in order to remain in power and maintain corrupt activities.
On a separate note, Parliamentarian Imthiaz Bakeer Markar said journalists who report on government corruption and fraud are facing various hardships.
MP Markar said prominent journalists are being hunted when the government is unable to find answers to questions.
He said the journalists who were inconvenienced have not assisted the Opposition Leader nor have they assisted the Samagi Jana Balawegaya.
The Parliamentarian said this is a direct threat to those who question the government.
