The Matara High Court has issued the death sentence on six persons over the murder of five individuals.
Six individuals were found guilty of shooting and killing five persons opposite the Devundara Devalaya 22 years ago.
The Matara High Court that deliberated the case, issued the verdict today.
The order was issued by High Court judge Chamara Thennakoon.
Several persons from one family are among the group.
Charges were filed against 15 persons over the incident.
Four individuals among the 15 have since passed away while five others were acquitted and released.
