Former President Maithripala Sirisena says he is not expecting to serve as the Prime Minister under the present administration.

Speaking to media in Kandy, Leader of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party says he will not accept any government post under the rule of the present administration.

He predicted that Sri Lanka would be the center of riots and protest if an all party government is not formed as soon as possible, as directed by the Maha Sanga.

The former President was confident that the present government does not have the skills and knowledge to pull Sri Lanka out of the economic recession.

Therefore Maithripala Sirisena called on all government Ministers to resign.

The former Head of State commented on the need to immediately form an all-party government.

Former President Sirisena said people are suffering amid many problems such as shortage of essentials and the absence of transportation services while schools and state offices are forced to shut down.

He stressed that the government must resign immediately and make way for an all-party government.

Former President Sirisena also pointed out that the 22nd Amendment to the Constitution is not democratic.

Therefore the SLFP Chairman said his party decided to organise protests island wide against the new reform.

Former President Sirisena said foreign aid will stop coming if the President continues to grab more power through the proposed 22nd Amendment.

Party General Secretary MP Dayasiri Jayasekara said his faction will table this issue before Court as soon as possible.
