Several trade unions part of the state, semi-government and private sector and estates have decided to extend their support to the teachers’ and principals’ struggle to eliminate salary anomalies.
The decision was reached following a discussion chaired by representatives of trade unions in Colombo yesterday.
Speaking to media following the discussion, the President of the Inter-Company Employees’ Union Wasantha Samarasinghe said they discussed future steps as the Trade Union Coordination Centre.
Samarasinghe said the government wasted time, adding a resolution has not been tabled yet despite two and a half months lapsing.
He said all trade unions unanimously reached a decision to support the teachers’ and principals’ struggle until they have win over their demands.
