Several political parties and groups have expressed their intention of supporting Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna Parliamentarian Dullas Alahapperuma at today’s vote to elect a new President.
The Central Committee of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party that convened under the patronage of Chairman former President Maithripala Sirisena yesterday, decided to cast their vote in favour of MP Alahapperuma.
The Tamil National Alliance, the Sri Lanka Muslim Congress, the All Ceylon Makkal Congress, the Tamil Progressive Alliance, the group of 10 parties which includes Wimal Weerawansa-led National Freedom Front and Udaya Gammanpila-led Pivithuru Hel Urumaya and the independent group of SLPP Parliamentarians have also expressed their intent to vote for MP Alahapperuma.
