Several memorial services have been organised across the island to commemorate the lives of the victims of the 2019 Easter Sunday attacks.
The main service will be held at the St. Sebastian Church in Katuwapitiya, Katana.
Speaking to NewsRadio, Media Spokesman of the Archdiocese of Colombo Reverend Father Jude Krishantha said they will mark the lives of the victims and remember the families who lost loved ones.
Rev. Fr. Krishantha said a service will also be held at the St. Anthony’s Shrine in Kochchikade.
Rev. Fr. Krishantha added a two minute silence will be observed at 8:45am during the services, the time that the first suicide bombing was reported.
He said bells will be rung at all churches at 8:45am as well, and called on citizens to light lamps in a sign of remembrance of the victims.
Rev. Fr. Krishantha said the services will be attended by Ambassadors of countries who lost their nationals who were holidaying in Sri Lanka at the time.
