Several Army personnel have sustained injuries in a clash between a group of Army personnel and youth in Minuwangoda.
Police said the clash took place between three soldiers attached to the Vavuniya Security Forces Headquarters, who are currently on duty at the Sri Lanka Army Headquarters in Colombo, and seven youth including school children, who are residents of Minuwangoda.
The reason for the clash has not been confirmed thus far. Police said the youth involved in the incident were arrested following a complaint lodged by the Army personnel.
The suspects were produced before the Minuwangoda Court and released on bail.
The Police Media Spokesman’s Office said the case will be taken up once again on the 24th of January.
Further investigations are being carried out by the Katunayake Police.
