The Trade Union Coordinating Centre has reached a decision to launch a series of protests island-wide from tomorrow.
The series of protests are being launched against the failure to arrest those responsible for carrying out and those who supported the attacks on protesters at Galle Face and opposite Temple Trees on the 9th of May.
Convener of the Trade Union Coordinating Centre, Wasantha Samarasinghe said an employee of the Moratuwa Urban Council has been arrested adding Police has released five hotline numbers for the public to provide relevant information pertaining to the acts of violence.
Samarasinghe claimed ample evidence against those who were involved are available on social media and on electronic media adding the crowds came out from Temple Trees.
Samarasinghe said protests will be launched opposite offices and in towns while a large scale protest has also been organised opposite the Fort Railway Station.
He called on the working class to join the protests.
