The Police Sergeant who extended his support to the people’s struggle at the Maharagama Town on Saturday (9) has been arrested with a sharp weapon while entering the President’s House in Colombo, Fort early this morning.
The Sergeant is attached to the Narahenpita Police Garage in Magammana, Homagama.
Police had seized a 10-inch-long and two-inch-wide weapon in his possession.
Army officers grew suspicious of the individual who was clad in the Police uniform and wearing a pair of slippers.
The sharp weapon was found on him during inspections.
The Sergeant has been handed over to the Fort Police Station for further investigations.
