Power cuts will continue across the island today as well.
Accordingly a three-hour-and-45-minute power cut will be imposed in areas A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H, I, J, K and L, with a two-hour-and-30-minute power cut between 8am and 6pm and a one-hour-and-15-minute power cut between 6pm and 11pm.
The Ceylon Electricity Board said a three-hour power cut will be imposed in areas P, Q, R, S, T, U, V and W, with a two-hour power cut between 9am and 5pm and a one-hour power cut between 5pm and 9pm.
Although the CEB earlier said seven-hour power cuts will be imposed today, steps were taken to reduce the duration of power cuts as the government promised to provide fuel to the Kelanitissa and Sojitz power plants.
Power cuts are being imposed due to the lack of fuel stocks to generate electricity.
