Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna Parliamentarian SB Dissanayake today sought the forgiveness of the people for the hardships they are facing.
Speaking at a media briefing today, MP Dissanayake said the government is not surprised at the curses being directed at them and that the government holds no anger towards the public.
He acknowledged that public anger and hate directed to the President, Rajapaksa’s and the government is understandable when people are compelled to stand in queues for an entire day to purchase fuel, gas, or other essentials.
MP SB Dissanayake said the government is truly sorry for the hardships the public is facing adding that the government remains sensitive to public grievances.
Meanwhile, MP Dissanayake said abolishing the Executive Presidency will not bring about solutions to the economic crisis.
He said there is no country in the world that has gained anything by abolishing the Executive Presidency.
