Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna Parliamentarian SB Dissanayake claims the on-going conflict between the Sri Lanka Freedom Party and the SLPP will not lead to the collapse of the current government.
Speaking during a media briefing in Colombo today, MP Dissanayake noted that there were several differences of opinions within the government even in the past.
The Parliamentarian commented that as a former SLFPer, it is normal to have conflicts among members of a political coalition.
However, he said it will be appropriate if they can resolve internal disputes among themselves.
MP Dissanayake stressed that it was normal to have different opinions on matters, but added that publicising those issues was a matter of discipline in politics.
When questioned by media over the government falling apart, MP Dissanayake said it was highly likely that it would come to a pause, but added that at that point they will resolve their issues and continue as an alliance.
