Saudi Ambassador to Sri Lanka Abdulnasser Hussain Al-Harthi has informed President Gotabaya Rajapaksa that continuous support will be provided to Sri Lanka through the Saudi Fund for Development.
The Saudi Ambassador informed President Rajapaksa in this regard when he called on the Head of State at the Presidential Secretariat this morning, prior to departing the country after completing his term.
President Rajapaksa commended the support provided by Ambassador Hussain Al-Harthi during his term.
The Ambassador said a senior Saudi delegation will arrive in Sri Lanka in the near future to look into investment opportunities including investments in the renewable energy sector.
The President highlighted that there are several special tax concessions surrounding investment zones while there are broad opportunities for direct investments in the medicine, technology and apparel industries.
The President also invited the Saudi government to look into investment opportunities at the Colombo Port City and the proposed dockyard in Hambantota, and acknowledged the support extended to develop infrastructure through the Saudi Fund for Development.
