Leader of the Opposition Sajith Premadasa says the government is preparing to tax the Employee Provident Fund in order to pay commissions to political allies.
Speaking to media in Hariyala, the MP said the Samagi Jana Balawegaya will open its doors to the 6.9 million people who were deceived at the Presidential election.
He pointed out that it was a joke how the government continued to promise undisrupted electricity supply, while the Ceylon Electricity Board seeks permission for power cuts within the next three months.
MP Premadasa recalled that News headlines during their time in power were focused on developments in healthcare.
But the MP spoke of the present day where an economic crisis has been brought about by the government.
MP Premadasa also claimed that the Agriculture industry has come to a complete standstill due to decisions of the present government.
He commented that farmers are being deceived by false promises of the government over temporary compensation on lost income.
