Leader of the Opposition Sajith Premadasa has questioned the government on the purpose of the Minister of Agriculture and the State Minister of Promoting the Production & Regulating the Supply of Organic Fertiliser if the Commander of the Army has been vested with the responsibility of distributing fertiliser.
Speaking during an event in Bundala today, MP Premadasa said it is unfair to maintain these Ministries with taxpayer’s money.
The Opposition Leader said the President has made it clear that not only the Minister and the State Minister, but all relevant officials in the country are incapable of carrying out their duties by vesting responsibilities with the Army Commander and the Sri Lanka Army.
MP Premadasa said he personally believes the country’s state service is capable of contributing towards developing the country.
He said the present administration has no faith in the state service.
