Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa says a child was murdered senselessly, due to the menace of drugs.
Speaking to media after visiting the home of a child who was killed in Atulugama, Bandaragama yesterday the opposition leader said such killings will not stop unless the menace is eradicated.
He also pointed out that many shootings were taking place around the country, instead of the government implementing national security as promised.
MP Premadasa also noted that a witness of a high profile case was assassinated as well.
He said those involved in the drug trade must be brought before the law and punished by the highest capacity of the law.
He pointed out that Sri Lanka cannot go forward, when there is an environment where the public cannot enjoy their right to life.
