The Samagi Jana Balawegaya says the solution to the present crisis is not the sacking of the 225 Members of Parliament but to bring forward reforms to form a national policy.

Speaking to media today Parliamentarian SM Marikkar said many important projects were initiated during the 74 year political history of Sri Lanka, despite drawbacks within the system.

He requested the public to be aware of political tactics to sway the opinion of the people to benefit politicians.

The MP recalled of state sponsored projects such as the Gal Oya and Janasaviya projects, establishing Free Trade Zones and setting up apparel factories that led to massive economic growth in Sri Lanka.

He urged people not to forget the good things accomplished by past governments including a USD 3.5 billion surplus during the tenure of President JR Jayawardene.
