Rs.2,000 allowance for low income earners

The government to provide a Rs.2,000 allowance to low income earning families who have lost livelihoods due to the pandemic.

The government has decided to provide a Rs.2,000 allowance to low income earning families who have lost livelihoods due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Secretary to the Ministry of Finance SR Attygalle speaking to NewsRadio said the allowance will be disbursed from Monday the 23rd.

Accordingly, low income earning families who do not receive other allowances will be eligible to receive the allowance.

Attygalle said he has advised District Secretaries to compile a list of beneficiaries accordingly.
