Four suspects arrested over investigations into the death of the 16-year-old girl, at the residence of Parliamentarian Rishad Bathiudeen, have been remanded.
The wife of MP Bathiudeen, her father and brother and the broker who escorted the girl to the MPs residence were remanded till the 9th of August.
The order was issued by Colombo Additional Magistrate Rajindra Jayasuriya.
Meanwhile, the Additional Magistrate also issued an order to exhume the remains of the girl in order to conduct another post-mortem examination.
She ordered a senior team of Judicial Medical Officers to be appointed in order to carry out the exhumation.
The brother of MP Bathiudeen’s wife was arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting another domestic worker at the same residence.
