Rev. Fr. Cyril Gamini Fernando has been informed to arrive at the Criminal Investigation Department today to record a statement pertaining to a complaint lodged by Director of the Sri Lanka State Intelligence Service Major General Suresh Salley.
The CID yesterday informed the Colombo Magistrate’s Court that investigations have been launched pertaining to a complaint lodged by Major General Suresh Salley pertaining to references made regarding the 2019 Easter Sunday attacks during an online forum.
The CID informed Colombo Chief Magistrate Buddhika Sri Ragala in this regard, while filing a report over the incident.
The CID informed Court that the Global Forum for Justice had conducted a Zoom discussion for the local and international fraternity, on the 23rd of October.
CID officers informed that the Head of the SIS called for an investigation to be conducted pertaining to false claims levelled at him during the discussion.
The CID informed they will report to Court after statements are recorded from all factions and further investigations are conducted over the complaint.
Accordingly Rev. Fr. Cyril Gamini Fernando has been summoned to appear before the CID today.
