The Samagi Jana Balawegaya says certain repressive actions of the government have led to international condemnation.
Speaking at a media briefing today, MP Nalin Bandara said a programme should be enforced in Parliament that reflects the view of the people.
MP Bandara said peace, law, and order have been tarnished in the country while a genuine all-party government has not been created.
He charged that Parliament is warped and does not reflect even five percent of the people’s aspirations.
MP Bandara said Parliament must to a certain extent reflect the wishes of the people.
He claimed that Parliament must create a programme that leads up to the conduct of an election for the people to elect their representatives.
The Parliamentarian also said the public is facing a critical economic crisis, with many issues including the shortage of fuel, gas, and other essentials.
He charged that in comparison to June, inflation in July has risen by 90 percent.
MP Bandara also claimed that children’s education has been gravely affected while the health industry has also been negatively impacted.
