The five-member committee appointed to make recommendations to restructure the Central Cultural Fund has submitted its report to Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa.
The Prime Minister instructed relevant officials to implement the recommendations cited in the report expeditiously.
The Prime Minister said he believes there are archaeological sites in the country that have never been uncovered and instructed officials to look into the matter and take appropriate action.
Meanwhile, President Rajapaksa instructed officials to issue one online ticket for foreign tourists visiting Sri Lanka to visit all archaeological sites.
Prime Minister Rajapaksa issued instructions to introduce another ticket at a reasonable price to cover all museums in a particular archaeological zone as local tourists are also inconvenienced by having to obtain tickets for several archaeological museums in the same area.
