The Foreign Ministry says the remains of veteran singer and musician and the Consul General of Sri Lanka in Milan Neela Wickramasinghe will be repatriated to Sri Lanka from Italy upon completion of relevant formalities.
Veteran singer Neela Wickramasinghe passed away yesterday at the age of 71.
She died of a heart attack while in Milan, Italy.
Neela Wickramasinghe assumed duties as the Consul General of Sri Lanka in Milan on the 29th of December 2021.
Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe will make a special address to the nation this evening.
