The Registrar General’s Department has decided to limit the services offered at all its regional and district offices to two days a week owing to the fuel crisis.
Accordingly, the issuance of birth, marriage, and death certificates through Divisional Secretariats and land registration services will be limited to Mondays and Wednesdays.
Issuing a statement, the Department said the services will be provided only on Mondays and Wednesdays between 8.30am and 4pm over the next 10 days.
However, the head office of the Registrar General’s Department at Suhurupaya, Battaramulla and branches located at the Immigration and Emigration Department’s regional offices in Kandy, Matara, and Kurunegala will function on weekdays as per usual.
