Social media activist Rathidu Senaratne better known as Ratta, who was arrested last evening, has been released on bail.
He was produced before the Colombo Fort Magistrate Thilina Gamage and was subsequently released on a Rs.100,000 surety bail.
Ratta was arrested by the Slave Island Police last evening on charges of allegedly attacking a prison bus outside the Fort Magistrate’s Court during a protest on the 25th of May, and disrupting Police officers from conducting their duties.
Ratta arrived at the Slave Island Police Station with a group representing the people’s struggle last evening when he was arrested.
