Minister of Industries SB Dissanayake says the country can undergo rapid development once again by the end of this year.
Speaking to media in Kandy Minister Dissanayake said the fuel and power crisis are serious issues.
The Minister noted the government is incurring a loss of nearly Rs.128 through diesel and Rs.107 through petrol.
He added the government cannot continue to incur losses.
The Minister claimed the country can be uplifted by sharing the loss and overcoming the prevailing crisis adding the country cannot be uplifted by providing fuel and electricity to the public at a loss.
Minister Dissanayake further said fuel and electricity must be used carefully.
He claimed the prevailing crisis will be resolved within the next three to four months, following which the country can undergo rapid development similar to 2010 and 2011.
