A suspect has been arrested by the Criminal Investigation Department for allegedly attempting to set fire to a stationed fuel bowser in Rambukkana during the unrest on Tuesday.
The suspect was identified following the observation of footage via CCTV cameras installed in the surrounding area and was arrested by the CID last evening.
Police said the 28-year-old is a resident of Pinnawala, Rambukkana.
The suspect will be produced before the Kegalle Magistrate’s Court today.
Investigations into the incidents that unfolded in Rambukkana on the 19th of April are being carried out by the CID, several Police teams, and the Human Rights Commission of Sri Lanka as well.
