Former Minister of Health Rajitha Senaratne has requested the public to continue to wear a face mask when in public places.
The MP was responding to the decision by the Director General of Health Services to lift the mandatory requirement of wearing face masks owing to the coronavirus pandemic.
MP Senaratne said if an individual is infected with COVID-19 by not wearing a mask, the individual will become more vulnerable due to the medicine shortage at hospitals.
