The Up-Country People’s Front says it will not support Ranil Wickremesinghe as Prime Minister.
Speaking at a media briefing in Hatton, the Leader of the Party, Parliamentarian V Radhakrishnan said after extensive discussions with the party’s Politburo and Central Committee it was decided that the Front will remain part of the Tamil Progressive Alliance and continue to support the Leader of the Opposition.
MP Radhakrishnan said the party discussed issues pertaining to the present political situation in the country adding that the Up-Country People’s Front will not be accepting Ministerial portfolios in the interim government.
The MP added that the party will not work alongside the present administration.
However, MP Radhakrishnan stated that the Up-Country People’s Front will support any correct decisions taken by the administration and work towards political stability in the country.
