Minister of Public Security Prasanna Ranatunga has requested Police to ensure that public transport services are maintained without any hindrance during the protests and demonstrations in the country.
The Minister said in a statement that measures must be taken to ensure that ambulances, school vans, office services, vehicles transporting essential goods and vehicles used by tourists can proceed without any hindrance during demonstrations.
The draft of the 21st Amendment to the Constitution has been presented to the Cabinet of Ministers.
