Leader of the Opposition Sajith Premadasa says the public remains battered across all sectors.
MP Premadasa speaking at a public gathering in Ambalantota today said days before Christmas fuel prices were increased adding that with the dawn of the New Year foreign reserves will drop to zero.
He charged that the government has failed to take any measures to reduce the burden on the public and has failed to understand the people’s grievances.
MP Premadasa said a situation has arisen where government politicians cannot mingle with the people.
He said the public has lost complete faith in the government and refers to the current administration as a curse.
However, MP Premadasa claimed the government cannot hide from the people forever adding that they will have to be among the people during the next election and stated the citizens will respond aptly.
