The National People’s Power has accused the government of turning a blind eye to the issues in the country, instead of providing solutions.
When inquired by NewsRadio, NPP Parliamentarian Dr. Harini Amarasuriya said the suspension of the manufacture and distribution of gas has led to the public being severely inconvenienced.
MP Amarasuriya said the government must promptly resort to holding an election if it cannot intervene and provide acceptable solutions.
The Parliamentarian said the government has failed to indicate that it understands the plight of the people.
She questioned if the President doesn’t witness queues on roads for gas and fuel during his daily travels.
MP Amarasuriya said the public is burdened over making ends meet including preparing meals owing to the shortage of gas and kerosene oil.
She added that public disdain towards the government is only growing daily.
