The opposition calls for the resignation of the President, Prime Minister, Minister of Finance and the Governor of the Central Bank with immediate effect.
Speaking during a media briefing in Colombo today, MP Hector Appuhamy said they have failed to address the current issues including the economic crisis.
MP Appuhamy noted that citizens will remove them from their posts if the current trend continues.
He also noted that the Central Bank of Sri Lanka should once again become an independent organisation which advises the government on how to handle the economy.
He said at present, the Central Bank is functioning like an agent or a branch of the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna.
MP Appuhamy added that it is unfortunate that the present administration has been acting in an arbitrary manner despite seeing the issues faced by the public on a daily basis.
