Excavations and investigations at the site where a stock of ammunition suspected to have been used during the conflict was found, in the Kilinochchi Police Division, have been concluded.
Police said details pertaining to the investigation will be submitted to the Kilinochchi Magistrate’s Court today.
A stock of T-56 ammunition was first found buried at the relevant concrete worksite in Kilinochchi on the 14th of December.
Following a Court order, the Police Special Task Force conducted excavations at the site yesterday and on Wednesday, and found 190,750 rounds of ammunition including T-56 ammunition.
