The Principals’ Union Alliance comprising eight Principals’ Associations has decided to launch a one-day token strike tomorrow.

Union members will engage in a sick note campaign tomorrow and will not report to duty.

The Alliance states that the decision has been taken due to the lack of a proper solution to the financial injustice done to the principals by the salary revision circular.

They also point out that although the relevant parties were informed about the issue after the issuance of the amendment circular, there has been no response thus far.

Speaking to NewsRadio, Secretary of the Ceylon Principals’ Association Piyasiri Fernando said, if a proper solution is not provided tomorrow, a protest will be organized on the 3rd of February.

He noted a large number of principals will join the protest.
