The Disaster Management Centre said the prevailing adverse weather conditions will remain in place at least until tomorrow.
Deputy Director of the DMC Pradeep Kodippili said those residing in low-lying areas and along river banks must remain vigilant of rising water levels.
Pradeep Kodippili said spill gates of several reservoirs have also been opened owing to heavy rains. The Deputy Director of the DMC said spill gates of the Laxapana reservoir, Rajanganaya reservoir, Deduru Oya and the Kukuleganga reservoir have been opened.
He said the water level of a number of rivers have reached spill level.
Pradeep Kodippili also added that fishing and naval communities must refrain from setting out to sea especially towards the Bay of Bengal region.
