The opposition says the President and the Prime Minister must address the public through a special statement, at a time that the country is facing a critical situation.
Addressing Parliament yesterday, MP Ashok Abeysinghe said the government is insensitive towards the plight of the people.
MP Abeysinghe said slogans of ‘Gota Go Home’ and demands for the Rajapaksas to leave are increasing while the public languishes in queues without milk powder, fuel, gas, and medicine.
He charged the President and Prime Minister of pretending that all is fine in the country.
MP Abeysinghe said the Prime Minister was in Parliament yesterday, with a Cabinet comprising three Ministers, and as the head of the Cabinet failed to make a statement in Parliament as to how the country’s issues will be addressed.
