The Samagi Jana Balawegaya claims the President’s throne speech made it clear that a majority of public issues in the country will continue until December.
Speaking to media in Colombo SJB General Secretary, MP Ranjith Madduma Bandara said the President’s speech did not include steps that should be taken towards eradicating fraud and corruption terming it questionable.
MP Bandara said the President highlighted that the fuel crisis will continue till December, resulting in transportation difficulties for students and parents.
He reiterated that the state service and other industries will also be hampered as a result of the fuel shortage.
The Parliamentarian claimed that President Ranil Wickremesinghe failed to answer the main issues of the public, and requested the public to forget the issues of the past.
However, the SJB MP noted that the youth led people’s struggle was initiated for a change.
He said the President failed to highlight further action into the Easter Sunday attacks.
The SJB Secretary charged that the CID, the STF and the Police are hunting down peaceful protesters and called on authorities to call off the crackdown on peaceful protesters.
