President Gotabaya Rajapaksa has expressed his willingness to hold discussions with the Diaspora.
The President extended an invitation to the Diaspora to invest in development in the Northern Province.
President Rajapaksa expressed his views during a meeting with Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs of the United States Victoria Nuland yesterday.
The President’s Media Division said the President briefed Nuland on the developments of the All Party Conference held yesterday and the discussion with the Tamil National Alliance scheduled to be held tomorrow.
Welcoming the conduct of the All Party Conference and the meeting with the TNA, the Under Secretary highlighted the importance of holding talks with the Diaspora in Canada, the United States and European countries.
Meanwhile, Victoria Nuland assured that steps will be taken to introduce green technology that is being implemented in the US to Sri Lanka and to support the development of cyber and information technology sectors.
The Under Secretary added that attention will be directed towards educational facilities in Sri Lanka and claimed that higher education opportunities could be expanded with the involvement of the private sector.
