The discussion between Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa and teachers and principals trade unions, pertaining to salary anomalies, which was scheduled for tomorrow, has been postponed.
The Ceylon Teachers Service Union said they were informed of the postponement by the Additional Secretary to the Prime Minister.
Speaking to media via social media today, Secretary of the Union Mahinda Jayasinghe said they will await a rescheduled date after tomorrow’s meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers.
Jayasinghe said the talks were a result of a request in Parliament by leader of the JVP Anura Kumara Dissanayake to the Minister of Education and the Prime Minister.
