The case filed over the disappearance of journalist Prageeth Ekneligoda will be taken up for hearing once again today.
When the case was taken up before the Colombo Permanent High Court Trial-at-Bar on the 3rd of June, nine Army Intelligence officers apprehended over the incident were remanded until today.
The order was issued by a bench comprising Judges Sanjeewa Morayas, Mahen Weeraman and Damith Thotawatta.
Journalist Prageeth Ekneligoda was reported missing on the 24th of January 2010, two days before the 2010 Presidential Election.
The Attorney General had filed indictments, comprising 17 charges under Section 450(4) of the Criminal Procedure Act No 15 of 1979 as amended by Act No 21 of 1988 in the High Court against the nine Army Intelligence officers attached to the Giritale Army camp in connection with the disappearance of journalist Prageeth Ekneligoda.
