The Joint Postal Trade Union Alliance will hold a token strike from 4pm on Monday the 13th till midnight on the 14th over several concerns.
The Alliance said the strike is being carried out over several issues affecting postal employees and the Postal Department.
Convener of the Alliance Chinthaka Bandara speaking to NewsRadio said the Minister of Media and the Post Master General have been informed of their grievances but to no avail.
He said employees of post offices, sub-post offices, and management offices across the island will join the strike action.
Bandara added the Media Minister and the Post Master General have been informed of their decision to hold a strike action, adding they still have sufficient time to hold discussions to address grievances in the postal service.
