Police have launched an investigation into the abduction of a child in Horana.
The incident was reported between 7.30 and 8 this morning.
Police said they received information that the abduction was carried out by the father of the child.
Police added the suspect is a drug addict, while several complaints have been lodged against the individual over family disputes.
The suspect had reportedly stabbed his wife and caused serious injuries around a week ago.
