Police have uncovered information of an individual from Kandy who uploaded over 100 child pornography photos and videos to the internet in a single day.
Police said latest technology installed at the Women and Child Bureau of the Sri Lanka Police enables officers to clearly identify locations and identities of individuals who create and upload such content.
Police Media Spokesman Senior DIG Ajith Rohana said a special operation was launched by Police three days ago, using this new technology and data filtering methods, to identify perpetrators.
He assured that Police will continue to identify suspects who upload photos and videos of child pornography adding they will be dealt with by law.
The Senior DIG also assured that persons who engage in child abuse and sexual misconduct for views and profits will be punished.
