Police curfew that was imposed in the Western Province as of midnight was lifted at 6 this morning.
Senior Police Spokesperson Senior DIG Ajith Rohana said a decision was taken to impose curfew in the Western Province considering the prevailing volatile situation.
He requested the general public to adhere to curfew regulations.
Police curfew was also imposed within six Police Divisions in the Western Province following anti-government protests on Thursday.
Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna Parliamentarian Sanath Nishantha has been arrested by the Criminal Investigation Department.
