On-site investigations have commenced to assess the damages caused to property within the Presidential Secretariat.
Police Media Spokesperson SSP Nihal Thalduwa said the Scenes of Crime Officers and Fingerprint Analysts commenced necessary investigations.
Steps were taken to summon relevant officials in order to obtain scientific evidence.
The Tr-Forces, the Police, and the Special Task Force, during a joint operation early this morning, dispersed protesters who were occupying the Presidential Secretariat, the main entrance, and surrounding areas.
The Police said nine suspects, between the ages of 26 and 58, residents of Kelaniya, Embilipitiya, Ja-Ela, Ratnapura, Wellampitiya, Wadduwa, and Nugegoda, were arrested during the unrest early this morning.
14 individuals who sustained injuries during the incident are currently receiving treatment at the Colombo National Hospital.
Meanwhile, further investigations are being carried out under the supervision of the SSP of Central Colombo.
Security in the surrounding area has been beefed up.
