The Police have closed all entry points to the Presidential Secretariat at Galle Face.
NewsRadio correspondent said security has been beefed up with Police roadblocks and high iron barricades set up at all entry points.
It is reported that Police set up the roadblocks as a move to prevent a large scale public protest from being worked off this evening in Galle Face.
Police have reportedly put up a Court order at the Galle Face Green where protests have been staged against the public demonstration.
The nonpartisan indefinite protests at Galle Face enter day-16 today.
Speaking to NewsRadio from Galle Face, National Organiser of the Youth Organisation for Change, Lahiru Weerasekera said the Galle Road opposite the Presidential Secretariat has been closed with barriers adding that Police have grilled holes in the road and fitted iron bars.
He said roads have not been blocked during protests thus far while traffic flow is continuing as usual.
Weerasekera said motorists too pledge their support to the struggle when driving by.
However, he claimed that this is an ordinary move by the Rajapaksa regime.
He vowed that the struggle to ensure the President and the government steps down will continue together with the support of all citizens.
